Kyna Patrick, IBCLC, RLC
Kyna Patrick has been an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant since 2009. After graduating from Texas State University in 2003 with a degree in Family and Consumer Science-Nutrition and Foods, she began her career in 2004 as a Nutritionist for the WIC Program for 6 years. Her experience with WIC incorporated breastfeeding counseling which led her to certify as a Lactation Consultant. She has worked as an IBCLC in various hospitals and NICU’s in Austin and opened her private practice in 2011 assisting mothers and babies with various breastfeeding issues. When she moved to Houston in 2012 she began working at a hospital and was a key component in the training of staff and designation of the BFHI. Kyna has been with Dr. Liu’s office since 2015 and thoroughly loves working with the mammas and babies. When not working, she is home with her husband, 2 year old daughter, 17 year old stepson, dog and 2 cats.
Tessa Gardin, IBCLC, RLC
Tessa, a mother of two, is an IBCLC with over 8 years of clinical experience. Tessa holds a Bachelor of Science in Maternal and Child Health and Human Lactation. She became an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) in 2010 and is a current member of the International Lactation Consultant Association (ILCA). In the last eight years, she has utilized her knowledge in the field working as a hospital based lactation consultant at the largest delivering hospital in Houston. Along with providing personal direction for mothers and their families, during this time she was also integral in establishing the first baby friendly hospital in Houston, Texas. Her family life directly led to her interests in cases and conditions connected to tongue tied babies as both her daughters were born in need of intervention. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her two wonderful daughters, cooking, taking road trips, and crafting. In addition to family time she enjoys catching up with longtime friends, running outdoors and improving her yoga practice.
